JLS-10
Slim Low-Profile Comparator ConfigurationThe smallest-profile J-Series arrangement for applications where a compact comparator-oriented setup is preferred.
Built for demanding fastener, aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing.
Compact comparator and surface-plate configurations for precision rotational inspection.
Published J-Series -10 literature covers small cylindrical components from 1/8–1 in (3–25 mm) diameter, with compact model configurations built around slim low-profile, low-profile comparator, and surface-plate inspection setups.
The compact J-Series is different because the gage body is organized around comparator and surface-plate inspection rather than the longer base architecture used by many other Universal Punch concentricity gages.
The three -10 configurations share the small-diameter size class while giving the inspection team different physical arrangements for the way the gage will be placed, supported, and used with the measuring system.
Model selection should still begin with the actual print. Universal Punch can review the part diameter, length, support lands, feature being measured, indicator access, tolerance, and required calibration documentation before the final configuration is quoted.
Legacy catalog literature identifies the slim model as JLS-10. The 2025 parts list uses JSLP-10 and also lists JSLP-10C. This page keeps the JLS-10 customer-facing family name while preserving the current parts-list terminology for engineering and quoting reference.
The J-Series model choice is primarily about how the compact gaging platform fits the inspection environment.
The smallest-profile J-Series arrangement for applications where a compact comparator-oriented setup is preferred.
A compact comparator gage configuration that retains the -10 support and roller architecture in a low-profile format.
The J-10 configuration is intended for a compact inspection station where the gage is used with a surface plate or comparator arrangement.
The JLS/JSLP, JLP, and J-10 configurations are all built around the compact -10 inspection class, but the body and base arrangement change to suit the intended comparator or surface-plate setup.
The current parts list separately identifies -10SLP, -10LP, and -10 block sizes and also assigns model-specific arm-yoke assemblies to JSLP-10, JLP-10, and J-10.
That is why the final choice should not be made from diameter alone. The physical setup, indicator position, workholding clearance, and operator access can all matter.
These values summarize the published family-level data that can be stated confidently across the J-Series -10 page.
Universal Punch defines the Concentricity Gaging System around three primary selections. Keeping those choices separate allows the J-Series setup to be matched to the actual part instead of treating it as one fixed product.
Choose JLS/JSLP-10, JLP-10, or J-10 based on the intended comparator or surface-plate arrangement.
Match the support geometry to the part diameter, available cylindrical lands, feature clearance, and inspection objective.
Confirm indicator style, mounting, stops, drive components, calibration, and any application-specific accessories.
The current parts list specifically describes the J-10 as a Surface Plate or Comparator Gage / 3–25 mm. That makes it a logical starting point when the inspection team wants the roller-supported J-Series architecture in a compact surface-plate arrangement.
The indicator and stand should be selected around the actual measurement feature, available probe access, and required resolution.
Universal Punch documentation separates the concentricity gaging system into Standard Black and Precision Gold classifications. The final J-Series order should state the required accuracy, indicator resolution, calibration documentation, and traceability.
Published system classification equivalent to 0.00016 in. Confirm the exact model and delivered calibration requirement when ordering.
Published for eligible -10 and -20 model classes, equivalent to 0.000079 in. Confirm availability for the selected J-Series configuration.
The J family extends beyond the compact -10 class with larger surface-plate or comparator configurations.
