Universal Punch Corporation, An ISO 9001:2015 registered company, has been a world-class manufacturer of the highest quality header tooling, medical instruments, and special gaging for over 50 years. We strive to continually create new products and to always be attentive to the needs of our customers. As part of our continuing commitment to provide precision and excellence in all of our products, we have expanded into a state of the art 65,000 Square feet manufacturing facility. Our spacious plant is equipped with increased machining capacity, expanded heat-treating facilities, calibration and inspection laboratories and clean room. Our laboratory ensures that all products sold conform to specifications for ANSI or ISO standards. All measuring equipment and gaging masters are directly traceable to N.I.S.T. All certification processes and procedures conform to ISO/IEC Guide 17025.
NEW Universal's High Quench Vacuum Furnaces offer superior metallurgical results, obtained from the load being quenched in a cold chamber, which means the results at a 6 bar quench are as good as generally achieved over a 10 bar quench.
Universal Punch Corp. offers High Tech Coating Processes that protect the functional working surfaces of cold, warm, and hot heading tooling. The average relative micro-hardness of our PVD coatings go well off the RC Scale but can be extrapolated to be well over 80 Rc. When this hardness is compared to 58-62 Rc of tool steel, 62-65 Rc of HSS, or 70-76 Rc of cemented carbide, one gets a clearer picture of the comparative hardness of our coatings. This higher hardness gives cutting tools, forming tools, and wear components much greater protection against abrasive wear.
Universal polishing dramatically increases the replacement cycle-times of tooling. This unique lapping process is a perfect balance of diamond particulates combined with air pressure in a hurling device. The abrasive lapping media, in multiple high-speed passes, can polish even the most irregular shapes to a mirror sheen finish. This process avoids misshaping and minimizes surface marring to safely polish even the most intricate parts, and it enhances durability and prolongs lifespan of molds and dies.
